Acne is general during the stage of adolescence due to some hormonal changes experienced in puberty. Acne treatment is the best way. Abnormally excessive secretion of oil by the sebaceous glands is one of these hormonal changes. When bacteria mix up with sebum, then there is acne eruption.
Acne affects almost 90% of the adolescent population. Therefore, you are not the only one acne sufferer. Thus, you need not feel guilty.

- Pizza, chocolate, coke or any other junk food, have never been proved to cause acne. That does not mean to say you should carry on eating junk food. A sensible diet is good for everyone, and helps you feel better.
- Actually, washing your face more than twice a day or scrubbing your face, with pads or flannels will make acne worse. Acne treatment requires a mild gentle soap and water to rinse it thoroughly.
- A combination of body sweat and oils can worsen certain situations for some acne sufferers. Shower immediately after any sport and wear loose clothing.
- No scientific evidence has been found to verify that make-up can cause acne. Today most products are made to stop the clogging of the pores. Therefore, this is not the problem. Do not wear make-up while exercising as this can irritate the problem.
- Stress could trigger off some hormones, which can aggravate the situation. However, it is not the cause.
- There are many good acne treatments in the market to cure acne. Consult your doctor.
- Sun can sometimes worsen the situation. A tan might give the effect that looks better, but it certainly will do it no good.
- Most of the problems are formed under the skin. So treating the top of the spot is not going to do anything.
- If the acne does not cure, do not wait; see a doctor as soon as possible.
- Acne is not serious. However, it can affect you, your self-esteem, and your confidence. So get it treated and become acne free.

- Do not pick or squeeze acne.
- Keep your hands off your face.
- Do not over wash
- Do not use flannels or hard scrubs
