Breast Care
At about the age of fifty small-breasted women get some revenge, because they are less affected by the effects of the law of gravity. However, everyone's breasts lose some tone and shape.
Tone up and nourish your breasts
To tone up your breasts, do as our grandmothers did; spray them with cold water under the shower for 2 minutes twice a day.
The skin on the breasts has very few sebaceous glands, so they should be nourished with moisturizing cream every day. There are creams specially made for the breasts. Try them but don't expect miracles.
Strengthen your pectorals
The breasts contain no muscles, only a more or less developed mammary gland surrounded by the body fat. The only way of improving their tone and shape is to strengthen the pectoral muscles that support them. You can do the necessary exercises either in a gym using special equipment or at home, as follows:
- Sitting or standing, put the palms of your hands together as if you are praying. Push your elbows out level with your breasts and press your hands together hard, as if you are trying to crush something. (10 times in succession, twice a day).
- Lie on your back, knees bent and feet on the ground. Cross one foot over the opposite knee and lift your outstretched arms above your face while holding a large plastic bottle full of water. Breathe in and stretch your arms out behind your head. Breathe out and bring your arms back to the starting position above your face (repeat 20 times).
- Do an hour's swimming twice a week. The breaststroke is very good exercise for the pectorals.
- Always wear a suitable bra. Finally, pull your stomach in and push your chest out! That's the best way to show them off to advantage.
Some Facts
- Never expose your naked breasts to the sunlight. Quite apart from the questions of appearance, it is dangerous: the free radicals generated by ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancers.
- Hormones Replacement therapy (HRT) can keep your breasts looking shapely.
