Eye Care

Your eyes, and even more so their expression, are the first thing other people notice and they are one of your main assets. They are also the most delicate part of your face and deserve a lot of attention.

Smooth out wrinkles and crow's feet
You will not be able to avoid the fine lines that spread out from the corners of your eyes or the wrinkles underneath your eyes. They are caused by your facial expressions and, in particular, by laughing and smiling. You should learn to like them, because they are a reflection of your positive emotions, unlike the ugly lines on your forehead. You can, however, do your something about the factors that make the situation worse like cigarettes, strong sunlight and stress. Always carry tinted glasses with you, so you never have to screw up your eyes against the sun. Nourish the area around your eyes with a special cream (ordinary face creams are too rich and aggressive). Apply it around the external corners in the mornings and evenings. Tap the cream gently in with your fingertips so that it penetrates. If you work in overheated or very dry premises, put some on at midday.

What to do about bags under the eyes
To a large extent bags under the eyes are hereditary, but bad diet and excessive alcohol can make the situation much worse. Don't eat too much Japanese and Chinese food as it contains high quantities of sodium glutamate (soya sauce is full of it) and, as a general rule, avoid eating too much salty food of any kind. To treat swollen eyes, try a cooling mask, which you can keep in the ice compartment of your refrigerator. Every morning, apply a gel specially made for the purpose.

Some Facts

  • Keep the cream you use around your eyes in the refrigerator. The cold helps to reduce the size of the bags.
  • If you have bloodshot eyes, try some soothing eye drops.
  • Conceal dark rings under your eyes with a tinted stick, made for the purpose, applied under your make-up.
