Lip Makeup
The lips also change with time. They lose their definition as the dental structure changes and fine lines eventually appear around the lips from constant muscle pull. Lipstick tends to "bleed" into these creases, further accentuating these lines. To combat this problem with make-up, apply a moisturizing cream to the lips and surrounding skin before applying your foundation. This will seal the fine lines, preventing the lipstick from bleeding.
- Lip Liner: Use a lip pencil (in the same shade as your lipstick) to outline and fill your lips before applying lipstick. This will make your lipstick last much longer. A dark outline (obliquely visible) with a lighter lipstick shade inside looks hard and passe. A soft outline helps to give a youthful and natural look.
- Lipstick: Then apply matching lipstick to the entire surface of the lips.
- Lip Gloss: Lip gloss is often in fashion, but remember it is a high maintenance look, requiring frequent re-application. Also, open hair can pull the lip-gloss across your face in streaks, so be careful. Instead of lip gloss which doesn't lasts long, use the petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline) as a lip gloss, rub a thick layer of it onto your lips and around them.
