Home Treatment for Boils

Boils is a skin disease caused by the inflammation of hair follicles, resulting in the localized accumulation of pus and dead tissues. Individual boils can cluster together and form an interconnected network of boils. This cluster is called carbuncles. In severe cases, boils may develop to form an abscess.

Home remedies for boils :

  • Garlic and Onion
    Among several other remedies garlic and onions has been proved the most effective home remedy for boils treatment. Onion juice or garlic juice can be applied on boils externally to ripen them, break and evacuate the pus. For beneficial results mix equal quantities of the juices of onion and garlic and apply it on the boil.
  • Bitter Gourd
    Another effective home remedy for blood-filled boils is bitter gourd. For the treatment of boils, a cupful of fresh bitter gourd juice can be mixed with one teaspoon of limejuice, sipped on slowly on an empty stomach daily for a few days.
  • Milk Cream
    Milk cream remedy is useful in the treatment of boils. Take one teaspoon each of milk cream and vinegar, mix it with a pinch of turmeric powder and apply it on boils. This is an excellent poultice for boils cure .This aids to ripen the blood boils and cure them without letting them become septic.
  • Betel Leaves
    Betel Leaves boils treatment is a valuable home remedy. A betel leaf is gently warmed until it softens. Coat the betel leaf with a layer of castor oil. Spread the coated leaf over the inflamed part. Replace this every few hours. After applying for several times, boil ruptures and drains out all the purulent matter.
  • Cumin Seeds
    For the treatment of boils cumin seeds are beneficial. Cumin seeds are ground to a paste in water. This cumin seed paste is applied to boils for useful results.
  • Margosa Leaves
    Margosa leaves have proven useful in treating boils. They can be used either as a poultice, liniment or decoction with positive results. To prepare the decoction, boil 15 gm of margosa leaves in 500 ml water until it is reduced by one-third.
  • Parsley
    For boils treatment, steep parsley in boiled water until it becomes soft and juicy. When it is comfortably hot, cover it in a clean muslin or linen cloth and apply it on the boils as a poultice.
  • Turmeric
    Application of turmeric powder on boils speeds healing process. In case of fresh boils, heat a few dry roots of turmeric, dissolve the ashes in a cupful of water and then apply over the affected areas. This solution helps boils to ripen and burst.
