Beautiful Skin and The Menopause

The Menopause is not an illness. Yet this stage in every woman's life is not without its little miseries, particularly in terms of the skin. To give back to 50-year-old skin the beauty of a flower, natural methods have yet to be beaten.

Effective prevention
From the menopause onwards, wrinkles and drying up of the mucous membranes are what worry a woman most. The production of collagen and the hydration of the skin drop radically when the body ceases to produce oestrogens, so we need to replace them. Of the trace elements, selenium and vitamin E are prescribed as a preventative treatment. In addition you can hydrate the skin and mucous membranes with body oil: shea tree, Chilean musk rose, macadamia, wheat germ and aloe gel are the ideal mixture which any good pharmacist should be able to make up for you.

Isoflavones and linolenic acid
To ensure you have a relatively easy menopause it may be necessary to modify your diet: make sure you get enough isoflavones and linolenic acid.
Isoflavones are remarkable plant oxidatns which do all they can to hold back the years. They are notably found in soya. For combating dryness, try increasing your consumption of oils containing linoleninc acid (soya, walnut and olive) and take a course of fish liver oil capsules at regular intervals. Dryness of the vagina responds well to a vaginal oestrogen cream.
