Use Healing Plant Extracts
Nature is incredible providing us, as she does, with a multitude of plants that heal cuts, bruises and burns thanks to their repairing and regenerating properties.
Arnica, the bruise-buster
Arnica has long been known for its healing action on bruises. If on walking tommorow morning you sit up suddenly and hit your forehead on the cupboard door, your best bet will be arnica. You could of course cover the bruise with foundation or a concealer but that is not the quickest way to get rid of it. Arnica is effective because it disperses the build-up of blood in the damaged tissues.
Mix 1 spoonful of arnica powder with nine spoonfuls of mineral water and apply as a compress to the affected area.
For injuries, calendula
Like arnica, calendula has been known for centuries for its healing properties. This humble garden herb works wonders for minor cuts and skin irritations. It is mild enough to be used on all skins, even a baby's. Containing allantoin, amino acids and beta- carotene, it is a natural regenerator that speeds up the reconstruction of the outer layer of skin. Apply the powder as a compress derectly to the wound (dilution 1/10), or use in cream form to soothe the skin after shaving or in cold weather conditions. Calendula oil, in combination with aloe gel, can be used to treat eczema.
