- Blepharitis:
Blepharitis is a skin disease, which is related to the inflammation of eyelids and eyelashes. This disease usually causes redness of the eyes and itching and irritation of the eyelids.
Two types of Blenpharitis are:
- anterior Blepharitis: It affects the front of the eyelids near the eyelashes. The causes of this type are seborrheic dermatitis and infection by Staphylococcus bacteria.
- posterior Blepharitis: It affects the part of the eyelids which makes contact with the eyes. The oil glands present in the eye area are responsible for this.
- Boil:
It is also called as furuncle. It is a skin disease caused by the inflammation of hair follicles. Itching may develop before the lumps begin to develop. The symptoms of boils can be red, pus-filled lumps that are tender, warm, and painful. Boils are usually appearing on the shoulders, underarms, back, face and buttocks.
- Bowen's Disease:
Bowen's Disease is a sunlight-induced skin disease and is considered either as an early stage or intraepidermal form of squamous cell carcinoma. It is a one type of slow-growing and scaly skin patch.
Scaly, flat, red and slightly raised red patch or number of patches may be the symptom of the Bowen's Disease. The treatment options for the Bowen's Disease are cryosurgery, curettage, photodynamic therapy, topical creams, surgery, radiation therapy, combination therapy, etc..
- Bullous pemphigoid:
Bullous pemphigoid is also known as BP. It is a chronic autoimmune skin disease. It is usually occurs in people over fifty years of age. It normally occurs on the skin fold areas like the groin and armpits. Bullous pemphigoid disease is not contagious. It does not spread from person to person.
- Canker sore:
It is also referred as Mouth ulcer. These are small sores, which appear inside the mouth. They are self-healing, painful, and can be recur. The factors to provoke canker sore may include stress and illness, damage from rough teeth, and deficiencies in vitamin B12 and folic acid. Mouth ulcers or canker sore can be normally heal without treatment within seven to ten days.
- Carbuncles:
A carbuncle is an abscess and somewhat larger than the boil. It is usually with one or more openings draining pus onto the skin. Carbucles are often caused by bacterial infection.
- Cellulitis:
Streptococcus bacteria, which can be, cause Cellulitis, enter though a small cut or sore. Usually the infection occurs on the face or on the lower leg. Redness, swelling, warmth, and pain or tenderness is some of the symptoms of the cellulites. The risk of cellulites is reduced by good hygiene and good wound care. The wounds must be cleaned and dressed properly.
- Chronic dermatitis of the hands and feet:
Dermatitis is also called as eczema. It is a skin irritation and is characterized by red, flaky skin, sometimes with cracks or tiny blisters. Corticosteroids, immunomodulators, moisturizing, light therapy are some of the treatment methods for dermatitis. The types of dermatitis are listed below:
- cercarial dermatitis
- Atopic dermatitis
- dermatitis herpetiformis
- seborrhoeic dermatitis
- nummular dermatitis
- urushiol-induced contact dermatitis
- contact dermatitis
- dyshidrotic dermatitis
- Chloracne:
Chloracne is an acne like skin disease. Certain toxic chemicals like dioxins cause it.
- Dyshidrosis:
This disease is referred as Dyshidrotic Eczema, Dyshidrotic Dermatitis or Pompholyx. Small blisters on the feet or hands characterize it. Usually they appear on the tips and sides of the toes, fingers, palms, and soles.
Topical non-prescription steroid creams, zinc oxide ointment, hydrogen peroxide, stress management counseling, light treatment are some of the treatment methods for the Dyshidrosis.
