  1. Kaposi's sarcoma:

    It is a kind of sarcoma caused by a herpesvirus infection. It is mostly found in patients of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, and can be fatal. The appearance of the lesions on the skin, an unexplained cough or chest pain, unexplained stomach or intestinal pain or bleeding are some of the symptoms of the Kaposi's sarcoma.
    Four forms of the Kaposi's sarcoma are:

    • classical KS
    • African endemic KS
    • Iatrogenic KS
    • AIDS-related KS

  2. Keloid:

    It is a special type of scar. It can be results in overgrowth of tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. Keloids are rubbery lesions or shiny, firm, fibrous nodules and can be vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown. Keloids appear on the upper back, chest, and shoulders.

    The symptoms for this disease may include tenderness, itching and mild pain. They are benign, harmless, noncontagious and painless. The treatment methods for the Keloid may include:

    • Injections of cortisone
    • Surgery plus injections of cortisone
    • Surgery
    • Laser
    • Cryosurgery
    • Compression
    • Laser plus injections of cortisone
    • Silicone sheeting

  3. Keratoacanthoma:

    Keratoacanthoma is appear on sun-exposed skin, mostly on lips. Initially, it may appear as a small pimple but then it grows rapidly. The treatment methods for the Keratoacanthoma may include freezing, curettage and cautery, excision, radiotherapy.

  4. Keratosis pilaris:

    Keratosis pilaris is commonly reffered as chicken skin. It is normally appear on the upper arms, buttocks and thighs. Keratosis pilaris is harmless. It tends to be worse during the winter months and at the time of low humidity. Because of this disease, the skin feels rough and spiky. The different types of keratosis pilaris are:

    • Keratosis pilaris rubra
    • alba
    • Rubra faceii

  5. Lichen planus:

    Lichen planus is an inflammatory disease which usually affects the mouth, the skin, or sometimes both. It may affect the scalp and the nails. It usually affects middle-aged adults. Lichen planus is a chronic, recurring, non-infectious, non-allergic, non-contagious disease of the skin.

    Round or irregular shape, raised slightly above the skin level, brown or pinkies or black in color are some symptoms of the Lichen planus. The treatment for this disease may include typical steroid, antihistamine, and even ultraviolet light.

  6. Lichen simplex chronicus:

    Lichen simplex chronicus is characterized by chronic scratching and itching. The scratching on the skin causes leathery, thick, brownish skin. Outer lower portion of lower leg, Wrists and ankles, Forearm portion of elbow, Upper eyelids are some parts of the body, which are mostly affected by lichen simplex chronicus.

  7. Lipoma:

    Lipoma is composed of fatty tissue. It is soft to the touch, moveable, and painless. They grow very slowly. It is a soft, localised, well circumscribed, and painless.

  8. Lymphadenitis:

    Lymphadenitis is also reffered as Localized Lymphadenopathy, Lymph Gland Infection or Lymph Node Infection. It is swelling of one or more lymph nodes, also called as lymph glands. It is a recognised symptom of many diseases like:

    • tumoral: Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, metastasis
    • reactive: acute infection or chronic infections
    • unknown etiology: sarcoidosis
    • it is also a sympton of cutaneous anthrax

  9. Malignant melanoma:

    Melanoma is a malignant tumor of melanocytes. It is a serious form of skin cancer. If it is detected early then it is completely curable. The treatment methods for the malignant melanoma may include surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.
    Four basic types of Malignant melanoma are:

    • Superficial spreading melanoma
    • Lentigo maligna melanoma
    • Acral lentiginous melanoma
    • Nodular melanoma

  10. Melasma:

    Melasma is also known as chloasma or the mask of pregnancy. It is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Melasma is common in women and especially in pregnant women. It mostly appears on the cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead, and upper lip.
