Prevention of Skin Fungus

Jock Itch Prevention

  • Make sure that the groin is dried completely after shower before covering with clothes.
  • Use loose, cotton or synthetic materials designed (wick moisture away from the surface) clothing.
  • Do not share clothing and towels or washcloths.
  • To prevent the infection use antifungal powders or sprays.

Ringworm Prevention

  • Keep your skin dry as the fungus grows in warm and moist area
  • Avoid contact with infectious material
  • Wash your hands neatly after handling animals, soil, and plants
  • Avoid touching characteristic lesions on other people
  • Use loose, cotton clothing
  • Practice good hygiene when participation in sports involves physical contact with other people
  • Men can wear boxer shorts, and women avoid panty hose.

Athlete's foot Prevention

  • Use an antifungal foot powder (Zeasorb-AF).
  • Wash your feet every day.
  • Wear sandals or shower shoes when walking around in public places like public pools, public showers, and locker rooms.
  • Use cotton socks and make sure that it is clean. If they get wet or damp change them as soon as you can.
  • Wear open-toed footwear whenever possible, avoid boots, dry carefully after washing.
  • Keep your feet as dry as possible

Candida Prevention

  • Use antifungal powder.
  • Make use of loose, clean cotton cloths.
  • For babies keep the diaper areas clean, dry, and exposed to air as much as possible.
  • Make sure your skin is dried completely after a bath.
