Risks about skin moles
There are several types of moles that have risk of becoming cancerous.

  • Atypical Nevi:
    Moles that are inherited which run in families, which are larger than average size about 1/4 inch (6 millimeters), or about the diameter of a pencil eraser, and irregular in shape are known as atypical (dysplastic) nevi. These look like a fried eggs having dark brown centers and lighter, uneven borders. Overall, they may look red or a tan. People with dysplastic nevi have a greater risk of developing malignant melanoma.
  • Congenital Nevi:
    Large moles that are present at birth are called congenital nevi or giant hairy nevi. These types of moles may increase the risk of malignant melanoma, and which is a deadly form of skin cancer.
  • Larger Moles:
    While other moles that have size around a open palm of a adult have the greatest risk of cancer.
  • Moles which leads to melanoma:
    Another moles having risk are of size larger than a pencil eraser, these have a greater risk of developing melanoma.
  • Melanoma:
    It is the most serious type of skin cancer and common that has been increasing rapidly. It develops in the cells that produce melanin. It can also form in your eye and in rare cases in internal organs such as your intestine. But mostly it develops in your skin. Melanomas cause the greatest number of deaths. The UV rays from sun and from tanning lamps or beds increases the chances of melanoma. To avoid this make use of good sunscreen.
  • Skin Cancer:
    Skin cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells, causes due more exposure of skin to the sun, although it may happen in areas, which are not usually exposed, to the sun. There are three types of skin cancer. Basal cell and squamous cell are common and make up the large majority of cases of nonmelanoma skin cancer, while melanoma is the most dangerous type of cancer. Try to avoid UV rays.
